I love to photograph my families in the comfort of their homes, outside in a beautiful Central Park or waterfront Dumbo, Brooklyn. But, today I want to explain how incorporating your streets and your neighborhood is just as awesome for a family photo session.
What Is A Neighborhood Walking Photo Session?
A walking photography session is one where we meet by your home (a starting point) and move throughout your neighborhood, walking your favorite blocks and streets that you frequent often and that have a meaning for your family. This allow us to take advantage of many different backgrounds to give a variety of images for your gallery. If an area has too many people or has bad light, we move on to the next. This type of session is also great for parents who’s kids get bored and want to move on, or very active kids who want to run around and explore.
IT IS PERSONAL! Do you feel like your home is too small or too dark for a photography session? Then, this is a session for your family!
We begin at your home (because what is more special than a front stoop picture?) and then walk around your favorite New York City blocks!
TODDLERS LOVE IT!
Are you worried about your little one participating happily? Or maybe they are not walking yet, or just staring to crawl or learning how to walk. Fear not! This is the best type of session for your kiddos! Fresh air, adventure, plenty of time to stop and explore. We can let them lead and leave or stay longer at each spot as needed.
NEIGHBORHOOD WALKING SESSIONS PROVIDE VARIETY
Are you having a hard time deciding on where to have a photo session? What is nice about a walking session is that you can get a variety of backgrounds and locations. We can include a stop in your kids favorite park, an urban feel, and we can even stop for some ice cream or pizza!
YOU WILL NOT BE FAR FROM YOUR HOME
No cranky or hungry kids at the sessions end. You are close to your home so you can go back for a nap or some food. Or you can go eat at your favorite restaurant right after the session and give them that ice cream that you bribed them for good behavior ;)
YOUR KIDS WILL FEEL COMFORTABLE
If you have a kid who sometimes feels overwhelmed when they are outside their comfort zone? Lets go walk around your favorite streets and blocks. Let’s take them to their favorite park or for ice cream or pizza. Nothing warms up an overwhelmed kid then like being in their familiar territory.
