Why I Believe Family Photos Are An Important Investment
With the fall coming and school starting is the busiest time for family photographers. It is a popular time for families to update photos, take those holiday photos and frame updated yearly photos as grandparent gifts. As a family photographer, I clearly value the importance of photos, so I want to share a few reasons why when it comes to booking a family photographer.
Why I believe family photos are an important investment
1. Family photos capture your family in your current season of life
I’ve said it numerous times, life does NOT stand still! My “baby” is about to go to 5th grade! I could not have imagined it coming so fast! I am very happy I chose to document his life in a special way for our family with my 365 project and even though I choose to keep his photos private I hope he will be grateful years down the line.
2. Family photos are a gift to your children and future generations
I highly value our family photos, weather they are done with an iPhone or with a professional camera. I know there is that awkwardness that it comes to being in front of the camera and even if I don’t feel my best I am still so grateful to have those images of me and my child. And I know you will feel the same years down the line looking at your own photos with your family.
3. Family photos are a great gift to give others
I love giving my mom photo calendar each year and she loves it too!. And my in-laws get photo frames that they love looking through all the time. I’ve had numerous clients who’s parents did not live in the same state get photo books from our sessions and surprise grandparents with those special albums as gifts. I can’t think of a better gift to give to grandma and grandpa, then a photo session with their kids and grand kids!
If you see family photos as an investment it changes your entire perspective. We tend to invest in what we value, such as home, vacations etc and capturing memories and important seasons of life are a wonderful way of investing into what is important in life - your people!
